Apple has released watchOS 26.5 for Apple Watch users, bringing a new Pride Luminance watch face, important bug fixes, and overall stability improvements. The update arrives after weeks of beta testing and focuses more on reliability and smaller refinements instead of major feature additions.
The new update is now available for compatible Apple Watch models paired with an iPhone running iOS 26. Apple is also continuing to refine features introduced with watchOS 26, including the redesigned Liquid Glass interface, Smart Stack improvements, Workout Buddy, and the new Notes app experience on Apple Watch.

How to update to watchOS 26.5
Follow these steps to install the update:
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Tap General
- Select Software Update
- Download and install watchOS 26.5
- Keep your Apple Watch connected to its charger during installation
- Make sure your iPhone stays connected to Wi-Fi
Your Apple Watch should also have at least 50% battery before starting the update process.

watchOS 26.5 introduces the new Pride Luminance watch face, which dynamically reflects colorful light effects and includes multiple customization options.
Apple also fixed an issue where Apple Watch could incorrectly send SMS messages instead of iMessages when paired with a dual SIM iPhone.
Another fix addresses a Workout app bug that caused audio alerts to stop working when the paired iPhone was not nearby. Alongside these changes, the update also includes performance improvements, better stability, and general bug fixes for supported Apple Watch models.
