Apple Rolls Out iPadOS 26.5 Public Beta 2 With Minor Updates

Apple Releases iPadOS 26.5 Beta 1 With Early Access for Developers

Apple just opened up the second public beta for iPadOS 26.5 and tvOS 26.5 to regular users. This release arrives exactly one day after the company handed the same software version to its developers. If you are part of the public testing program in the USA, you can download the update right now.

For the most part, it looks like this release focuses on keeping things stable rather than adding massive new tricks to your tablet or television.

The new beta version focuses mostly on upcoming map advertisements

The changes in this second round of testing are very small when you compare it to the first beta from a few weeks ago. The most noticeable tweak happens inside the Maps application. Apple added a new pop-up screen that explains exactly how its upcoming sponsored listings will work. The company plans to launch these local ads across the USA and Canada this coming summer.

Aside from the maps pop-up, testers are not finding many other fresh additions. The earlier beta did the heavy lifting by bringing secure encryption for RCS text messages and introducing a suggested places section.

Anyone who wants to try out these early features before the final launch can sign up through the official beta website.
