Apple is continuing its weekly update cycle by sending out fresh testing builds for older Mac operating systems. The company has officially started rolling out the third release candidates for macOS Sequoia 15.8.2 and macOS Tahoe 26.7.2 to registered developers this week. These new updates arrive alongside testing builds for newer platforms, keeping older machines secure while the company focuses on its upcoming software cycle.

New software patches focus purely on keeping older devices secure

Apple is not testing new visual features or tools for these older operating systems. The release notes for both macOS Sequoia and macOS Tahoe simply mention that the software brings important security fixes. The company recommends that all users install these updates once they become available to the public.

We will likely find out more about the specific security patches after the software launches. These two updates will probably go live alongside the fresh macOS Golden Gate release in the coming weeks. The company is currently running a massive beta testing phase, recently dropping the iOS 27.2 build and the iPadOS 27.2 release for mobile users.
