Apple recently updated its dedicated support application to properly fit the larger screen of the new iPhone Duo. The software update arrives just in time to support devices running iOS 27.1, which is the default operating system the folding phone ships with right out of the box. Users opening the troubleshooting app on their new iPhone Duo will now see a layout that takes full advantage of the wider internal display instead of showing thick black margins on the sides.

The new layout supports side-by-side multitasking without thick black borders

Early reviewers noticed that many applications were not yet properly sized for the folding display. When an app lacks a specific layout update, it appears letterboxed. This means the screen shows dead space on the left and right edges. With this latest update, the support app avoids that issue completely.

The update also allows the application to run smoothly in Split View. You can now look up troubleshooting documents on one half of the screen while keeping another application open on the other side. This makes following step-by-step repair guides much easier on a larger canvas.

Expect to see Apple continue rolling out similar updates for its other native applications over the coming weeks. Third-party developers will likely follow suit to fix compatibility issues across the board. If you are picking up the new folding device, you can anticipate a few early software hiccups across the App Store, but things should stabilize as more developers release their own display fixes in the near future.
