Apple to Temporarily Close Its Regent Street Store for Refurbishment

Apple will temporarily close its Regent Street store in London as it prepares another refresh of its long-running flagship location. The company plans to shut the store at the end of business on Sunday, January 11.

From Monday, January 12, the store will remain closed while refurbishment work takes place. Apple has confirmed the closure on its website and says the location will undergo ā€œrefurbishment.ā€ However, it has not shared how long the work will last.

During the renovation, customers will need to visit another nearby store. Apple Covent Garden will be the closest option. It is about 1.6 kilometers, or roughly one mile, from Regent Street. As a result, shoppers can still get in-store support, product demos, and repairs without traveling far.

A Store With a Long History

This is not the first time Apple has updated the Regent Street location. About a decade ago, the company carried out a major redesign. The store adopted Apple’s town-square layout, added a central grand hall with trees, and introduced its now-famous Italian stone staircase.

Because of that history, the upcoming refurbishment suggests Apple wants to keep its London flagship modern and aligned with its latest retail design.

For now, Apple has not shared reopening dates or details about what will change inside the store. Customers should expect the closure to last longer than just a few days, based on how previous renovations were handled.

If you plan to visit an Apple Store in central London during this period, head to Covent Garden until Regent Street reopens.
