Apple just picked up five new nominations for the 86th annual Peabody Awards. The company continues to build a solid reputation for high-quality original content on its streaming platform. This year, the Peabody committee recognized Apple TV across three different programming categories, including entertainment, children’s television, and documentary films.
These awards specifically honor storytelling that tackles important issues and asks viewers to pay close attention.

These shows are running for a win at this year’s Peabody Awards
The streaming platform grabbed a spot in the entertainment category for the acclaimed show Pluribus. Moving over to the children’s programming section, Shape Island caught the eye of the judges and earned a nomination.
Apple also made a very strong showing in the factual documentary space, pulling in three separate nominations for its catalog. Those specific projects include Come See Me in the Good Light, Vietnam: the War that Changed America, and Mr Scorsese.
The Peabody organization, which runs out of the University of Georgia, reviews over a thousand submissions every single year to find stories that matter. A dedicated panel of twenty-eight jurors works to select the nominees that stand out from the massive crowd. The group plans to announce the final crop of winners on April 23. After that, it will host a live celebration ceremony in Los Angeles on May 31.
Apple is definitely familiar with winning at the Peabody Awards. The company brought home its first trophies back in 2021 for the comedy hit Ted Lasso and the animated series Stillwater.
Since then, it has gathered even more recognition for popular shows like Severance, Bad Sisters, and the recent film Bread & Roses. We will find out in a few weeks if it can add a few more awards to its display case.
