If you live in certain U.S. states, you can add your driver’s license or state ID to Apple Wallet on your iPhone and Apple Watch. After that, you can show proof of identity or age at select airports, some businesses, and in certain apps.
Apple has expanded the feature over time, and Illinois is one of the newest additions. Puerto Rico also supports IDs in Apple Wallet.

Apple Wallet IDs currently support these locations:
- 13 U.S. states
- Puerto Rico
Here are the supported states, along with when they launched:
- Arizona (March 2022)
- Maryland (May 2022)
- Colorado (November 2022)
- Georgia (May 2023)
