Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: The Ledger of What Apple Has Not Published

Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at $799, and both have full sensor lists, battery ratings and color options published. What neither watch has, on any Apple page, is a band price, a titanium or ceramic configuration price, a per-device AppleCare+ price, or a repair cost. This is the ledger of what remains unpublished for both watches.

Pre-orders for both opened September 9, and both reach stores Friday, September 18, the same day as iPhone 18 Pro. For what Apple has confirmed, see our Series 12 launch coverage and Ultra 4 launch coverage.

What Apple has confirmed for both watches

Apple’s press releases and specs pages cover the S11 chip, the Health Sensing System, water resistance and battery hours for both models in detail. What they price is only a starting figure per watch, not a full configuration grid.

The band and configuration price gap

Apple has not published a single band price for the new Sport Band, Sport Loop, Milanese Loop or Modern Buckle options that ship with Series 12 and Ultra 4. The watch pages describe the colors and materials in detail and stop there.

Apple also publishes only the From $399 and From $799 starting figures. A full configuration price list, aluminum against titanium against ceramic, or GPS against GPS plus cellular, does not appear on Apple’s own Store page. Retailer listings do show configuration prices, but those are the retailer’s numbers, not Apple’s, and should not be read as what Apple charges.

Apple Watch Hermes Series 12 and Hermes Ultra 4 carry the same gap one step further. Apple names the case finish, the strap material and the new Rocabar Club band for Hermes Series 12 in full, and it lists the Hermes Ultra 4 band and watch face by name, but no price accompanies either Hermes listing anywhere on Apple’s site.

The AppleCare+ and repair gap

A per-device AppleCare+ price for Series 12 or Ultra 4 has not been published. Apple’s AppleCare pricing tables carry rows for both watches, but the figures load client-side and are not populated. The only coverage prices Apple has stated this week are AppleCare One at $19.99 a month and AppleCare One Family at $49.99 a month, neither of which is a per-watch figure.

Out-of-warranty repair pricing for either watch is the same story. Apple has published marketing pages and full spec sheets for Series 12 and Ultra 4, but its support library has no repair-pricing entry naming either model yet.

The carbon and documentation gap

Apple has published a Product Environmental Report for Series 12 and a separate one for Ultra 4, each a standalone PDF. Neither watch’s product page carries a carbon figure itself; the number exists only inside the PDF, the same pattern as iPhone 18 Pro’s environmental report.

What Apple has not said

Apple has not said when a full configuration price list will appear, what a band actually costs on its own, or when the AppleCare+ and repair figures will populate. None of that is Apple ruling a number out; the starting prices, the chip and the sensor list all went from unstated to published between the keynote and today, and the remaining gaps sit in the same pattern. Our pre-keynote Series 12 preview and the full event recap cover how the picture has filled in since.

Both watches reach stores Friday, September 18. Anyone budgeting for a specific band, case material or repair should expect Apple’s Store and support pages, not this ledger, to carry the final figure once it lands.
