Apple has released HomePod 26.5 for HomePod and HomePod mini users, alongside its latest software updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro devices. The new update does not introduce major new features, but it focuses on improving overall performance, Siri responsiveness, and smart home stability.

Apple says HomePod 26.5 mainly delivers performance and stability improvements, which usually means bug fixes, better reliability for HomeKit accessories, smoother audio playback, and fewer issues with Siri requests. Some users may also notice slightly better responsiveness when controlling smart home devices or using Apple Music through HomePod.

How to update HomePod to 26.5

You can install the update through the Home app on your iPhone or iPad:

  • Open the Home app
  • Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
  • Select Home Settings
  • Tap Software Update
  • Choose Update if HomePod 26.5 appears

If automatic updates are enabled, your HomePod may already install the update automatically overnight.

All the changes in HomePod 26.5

HomePod 26.5 is a smaller maintenance update compared to earlier releases. Apple’s official release notes only mention performance and stability improvements, with no major user-facing additions included this time. However, these updates are still important because they help improve Siri reliability, audio consistency, HomeKit communication, and overall system responsiveness across HomePod and HomePod mini devices.

The update also arrives as Apple continues refining its broader smart home ecosystem ahead of future AI-focused Siri upgrades expected later this year.
