The alert is not a substitute for a calendar event, especially for occasions that need advance planning. Its value is the last-minute nudge that can prevent an ordinary phone call from beginning without the context you meant to remember.
It is a modest addition, but it addresses a familiar problem without asking users to manage another notification list. Anyone trying the beta should check a contact card first, because a missing anniversary means there is nothing for Call Context to surface.
