It is also worth separating CarPlay Ultra from standard CarPlay. The Ultra experience is available only in supported vehicles and can control or display more of the car’s information, so an iPhone update alone does not unlock it in an unsupported dashboard.
iOS 27.2 is still in developer testing, and Apple has not given it a public release date. For drivers, the practical takeaway is simple: the beta points to deeper appearance controls, but availability will need confirmation from both Apple and the vehicle maker.
