iOS 27.2 developer beta 1 changes how iPhone users hide apps from Siri, Search, and suggestions. The setting previously labeled App Access is now called Excluded Apps, and the redesigned picker lets users add several apps at once instead of removing them one by one.
It is a small Settings change, but it gives the control a clearer name. Excluding an app means iOS should not use it in Siri, Search, or proactive suggestions. That can be useful for private work apps, unfinished projects, apps with sensitive content, or simply a less cluttered search experience.
What changes in the new picker

- Batch selection: users can choose multiple apps from one list, saving time when they want to tighten up suggestions.

The option is best understood as a discovery control, not a full privacy boundary. It manages how the selected apps appear in Apple’s assistance and search surfaces, but users should still review an app’s permissions, notifications, and account access separately.
For testers, the update is mostly about efficiency. Anyone who already manages a long list of excluded apps should find the new selection flow easier to understand and maintain.
