Apple has published one sentence saying that “features that rely on Siri AI” are excluded in the European Union alongside Siri AI itself, and it has never published the list of what those features are. Working only from Apple’s own pages, six things in iOS 27 are either branded as Siri AI or stated to require it, and each one inherits every condition Siri AI carries.
That matters beyond Europe. Siri AI ships in beta on Monday, September 14 in English, on a shorter device list than iOS 27 itself, with daily usage limits and an age rule. A feature built on top of it cannot be broader than its foundation, which is why the dependency list is worth writing down.

The six features Apple ties to Siri AI
Five of these sit on Apple’s Siri page under the Siri AI heading. The sixth, bill splitting in Wallet, is the only one where Apple writes the requirement out in full.

The conditions every one of them inherits
Each feature above is gated first by hardware. Apple Intelligence runs on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 or later, which is roughly a third of the iPhones eligible for iOS 27, so an iPhone 13 running the new release does not get any of the six. The iPhone 18 Pro sits in the top tier of that list.
Then comes language. Siri AI is English at launch, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in October, while Apple Intelligence itself covers 16 languages. Call Context is English only in Apple’s own feature list, and Visual Intelligence asks for a supported English variant.
Then come the limits. Apple says server-side Apple Intelligence features carry daily usage limits that may vary by feature, request complexity and system demand, and that expanded access will be available for a fee in the future. Siri AI is named first in that list, which means anything relying on it is inside the same ration.
Where the EU footnote bites
In the EU, Siri AI is absent at launch on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, and Apple states that features relying on it are absent too. Because Apple never enumerates them, the six above are the reasonable reading of its own pages rather than a published list, and we are not treating them as one.
The reach is wider than the iPhone. Apple sells hands-free Siri AI as an AirPods 5 feature that needs iOS 27 and an Apple Intelligence iPhone, and Siri Recap on Apple Watch is Siri-branded audio work that Apple says is coming in beta late in 2026. Both sit downstream of the same assistant.
What Apple has not said
- Which features it counts as relying on Siri AI, in any published list
- Whether Messages and Mail Suggestions, Safari Notify Me, Image Playground or the Photos editing tools are inside or outside that definition
- What a dependent feature does on a device where Siri AI is unavailable, whether it is hidden, greyed out or simply silent
- What the daily usage limits are in numbers, for Siri AI or for anything built on it
- Any date for EU availability on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch
