All three appear on Apple’s shop pages, verbatim: “Free next-day delivery is available for any in-stock Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, or Apple Watch.” “Get free two-day delivery on almost everything else. Or you can upgrade your shipping method for an additional charge.” “Delivery estimates are based on item availability and the shipping option you choose. You’ll get a final delivery date after you place your order.” None of the three names iPhone 18 Pro specifically, and none names a date, a range of dates, or a week.

Why ‘in-stock’ is the word that matters
The free next-day promise is written for items that are already “in-stock.” A pre-ordered iPhone 18 Pro is not in stock in the ordinary sense before its own September 18 availability date, and Apple has not stated whether or when a pre-order counts as in-stock for the purposes of that clause. The practical effect is that the fast-delivery language on the page does not itself promise anything about a pre-order placed today.

Apple states that availability and the shipping method chosen are the two inputs to a delivery estimate, and that the number itself only appears “after you place your order.” It does not say whether a rarer storage tier or finish is treated differently, and it has not published a way to see an estimate before checkout.
What this means for September 18
September 18 is Apple’s own stated date for stores and for the earliest possible arrival, not a promise that every configuration ships that day. iPhone 18 Pro Max, at any storage tier, follows the identical published date as the smaller model; Apple has not distinguished between the two on availability.
The same generic delivery language applies to AirPods 5 and to Apple Watch Series 12, which share the same September 18 date. Apple’s newsroom text for all three products uses near-identical phrasing, “available to pre-order today, with availability beginning Friday, September 18,” and none of the three newsroom posts adds a delivery estimate beyond that single date.
What Apple has not said
Apple has not published a per-configuration ship date, a statement that any finish or storage tier arrives later than another, or any number describing how many orders are being processed. Community claims about specific delivery windows are unverified reporting, not Apple fact, and are not used here.
The only dates Apple has committed to remain September 18 for stores and September 12 for the pre-order that opened this morning at 5 a.m. PT. iOS 27 arrives separately on Monday, September 14, as a free update, on a schedule Apple has not tied to any individual delivery estimate.
