Apple has published an unusually detailed camera list for the iPhone Duo, down to focal lengths, apertures and slow-motion frame rates. Nine specifications that appear on the iPhone 18 Pro’s pages, or that buyers routinely ask about, are absent from it.
None of these absences are accidents of timing. Apple issued a full press release for the iPhone Duo on September 9 and published a tech specs page alongside it, and these lines are simply not in either document.

The video formats that are not on the list
ProRes does not appear in the Duo’s published camera specs. Neither does Apple Log, Genlock, or external recording over USB-C, all of which Apple lists for the iPhone 18 Pro.

Spatial video is also absent. Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro at 1080p 30 fps for spatial capture and says nothing about spatial video on the Duo in either direction.
The Duo’s USB-C port is rated at USB 3 speeds up to 10 Gb/s with DisplayPort, which is the same port specification that carries external recording on the Pro. Apple has still not said the Duo supports it.
The numbers Apple never prints
There is no sensor size and no pixel size for either rear camera, which is Apple’s habit across the whole iPhone line rather than a Duo-specific omission. It matters more here, because the 2x view is a 12MP crop from the middle of the 48MP main sensor rather than a separate lens.
Apple lists 48MP macro on the Ultra Wide and gives no minimum focus distance for it, and it lists sensor-shift optical image stabilization on the main camera without listing any stabilization for the Ultra Wide.
The 10x digital zoom ceiling is published as a single figure, with no statement of whether it applies to video as well as stills. Night mode, Deep Fusion and Smart HDR 5 are listed for the system with no per-lens breakdown.
The under-display camera’s missing line
Apple publishes an aperture of f/1.8 and a 1080p video ceiling for the FaceTime camera beneath the 7.6-inch inner display, and no megapixel figure at all. Every other camera on the phone has one.
Apple also does not give a field of view for either front camera, or say whether the inner camera supports Center Stage outside FaceTime. What it does confirm is that the Duo uses Touch ID in the side button and has no Face ID, so the under-display camera does no biometric work.

The pattern is consistent. The Duo’s camera system is the two-lens arrangement described in our Duo camera explainer, and the professional video formats sit with the iPhone 18 Pro line.
What Apple has not said
An omission is not a denial. Apple has not said that the Duo cannot record ProRes or spatial video, only that it has not listed either, and it has not said whether any of these formats could arrive in a later software update.
It has also published no still images at full resolution from the phone, and no one outside Apple has shot with it, so nothing about output can be assessed. The Duo against the iPhone 18 Pro Max comparison covers what is known.
Apple has added nothing to the Duo’s camera documentation since September 9. Pre-orders open Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, and the phone ships Friday, October 23 with iOS 27.1, which is the first point at which any of these gaps can be closed.
