Apple has priced two iPhone Duo accessories, a $79 case and a $129 folio with a built-in kickstand, and published almost nothing else about either one. There is no weight, no dimension, no material description, no statement about wireless charging through them, and nothing at all about protecting the folding inner display.
Both go on sale the same day the phone does, with orders opening Friday, October 16. That leaves buyers choosing between two accessories for a $1,999 phone on the strength of a price, a name and two color options each.

The specifications Apple has not published
For an iPhone case that is a short list of omissions. For the first folding iPhone it is a long one, because a case for this phone has to solve problems no previous iPhone case has faced.
- Weight and dimensions for either accessory, on a phone that already weighs 254 g.
- The material of either accessory, where the iPhone 18 Pro range is described by material in Apple’s own copy.
- Whether MagSafe or Qi2 charging at up to 25W works through the case or the folio.
- Whether either one covers both halves, and what happens to the hinge area when the phone is open.
- The kickstand angles, and whether it holds the phone open, closed or both.
- Any guidance on protecting the inner display, including whether Apple advises a screen protector on a panel that folds.
- Any accessory Apple sells for the fold beyond these two, and any third-party program for Duo-specific cases.
What actually needs protecting on a fold
Apple is unusually specific about the materials on the phone and silent about the ones on the accessories. Reading the two lists together shows where the gap bites.

The surface Apple does not put Ceramic Shield on is the one that is exposed exactly when you are using the phone at its best. That is the single strongest argument for reading whatever Apple eventually publishes about the folio before deciding it is $50 of luxury over the case.
Two accessories, where the iPhone 18 Pro got four
Apple announced an updated Clear Case, a silicone case, a FineWoven case and a wrist strap alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. The Duo launches with a case and a folio, in two colors each, and no strap of any kind.
That is not evidence of anything missing. It is a first-generation accessory line for a shape no case maker has built for before, and it is worth knowing before you plan around a specific style. The phone’s own dimensions set the constraint: 164.6 mm by 117.8 mm by 5.2 mm open, and 84.1 mm by 117.8 mm by 11.3 mm closed.

- Any specification, weight, dimension or material for the iPhone Duo Case or the Folio with Kickstand.
- Whether wireless charging works through either accessory.
- Whether Apple recommends any protection for the folding inner display.
- Any repair or screen-replacement price for the Duo, which is the number that would tell you how much a case is worth.
- Any additional Apple accessory for the Duo, including straps, stands or a charger.
Orders for both accessories open with the phone at 5 a.m. PT on Friday, October 16, and the Duo ships Friday, October 23, so the accessory pages are the thing to read that morning. Apple has published everything else about this launch on its store pages rather than in its press releases, and the September 9 announcements set that pattern clearly enough.
