macOS 26.3 Update Available Now: What You Need to Know

Apple Releases macOS Tahoe 26.3 beta 1 for Mac Users

Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.3, ending the 26.3 beta cycle and moving the update from Release Candidate to a public build. The RC shipped earlier in February, and the final public release is now available to everyone on supported Macs.

If you track build numbers, the public macOS 26.3 build is 25D125.

This update appears to be a maintenance release. It focuses on bug fixes and security work, not new headline features. Next up, testing should shift to macOS 26.4 in the coming weeks.

How to update macOS 26.3

  • Open System Settings
  • Go to General
  • Select Software Update
  • If macOS 26.3 appears, click Update Now and follow the prompts

Changes in macOS 26.3

This release is mainly about tightening security and smoothing out issues found during the 26.3 beta run. Expect the usual mix of patches and reliability improvements rather than new interface changes.

Most of the visible benefit will feel like fewer glitches, better stability, and general under-the-hood polish. That is typical for point updates like this one, and it matches what testers saw throughout the cycle.

Even when there are no big user-facing features, system updates can still include new internal references and groundwork for future hardware and software. In 26.3, reporting around the build points to code references tied to unreleased Apple Silicon chips.

Next: macOS 26.4 betas

Attention now turns to macOS 26.4, which is expected to be a larger update than 26.3. Early expectations include new Siri-related functionality and additional additions like emoji, depending on what shows up once the first betas land.

If you have installed macOS 26.3 already, tell us what changed on your Mac and whether it feels faster or more stable.

  • My Mac os 26.3 on my Studio iMac is not stable. I’m have to click many times to somehow get past the error message “No availanle windows.” I am not using a trackpad but rather a plugged-in mouse. On my very similar MacBook Pro, Mac os 26.3 runs very well; no problems’ Can ypu recommend a solution that doesn’t involve driving 75 miles pne way to Pittsburgh, PA, the nearest Apple,Store?
