These changes apply to both the balanced Terra version and the faster, more affordable Luna model. This move gives the broader OpenAI community a lot more access to these text generators without increasing the baseline subscription costs.

Lower costs let you run more tasks within standard limits
For developers plugging these tools into their own software, the new rates take effect today. The medium Terra model is now 20 percent cheaper. It will cost $2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens. The smaller Luna model sees an even bigger drop of 80 percent, bringing its rate down to $0.20 for a million input tokens and $1.20 for output.
If you use the premium Work or Codex tiers, your monthly subscription fee remains the same. However, the company adjusted how it counts token usage against those paid plans. You can now push the Terra and Luna systems a lot further before hitting any roadblocks.
By tweaking these hidden limits, paid ChatGPT subscribers get a noticeable upgrade in daily capacity. Users can process longer documents or have extended conversations without the software capping them out early. This approach provides more practical value out of the same monthly fee, keeping the service highly accessible as the demand for automated work continues to grow.
