Code found in Apple’s current software appears to point toward a future where Siri AI could work with third-party models such as Claude or ChatGPT. It does not mean iPhone users can replace Siri today, and Apple has not announced a public setting for doing so.
The finding comes from code analysis shared by developer pdfu and reported across the Apple community. References to model delegation and inference providers suggest Apple is laying technical groundwork for more than one cloud model, but the feature remains unavailable to customers in the current release.
What the code appears to show
The reported frameworks describe services that could hand some requests to an outside model. That is different from changing Siri’s voice, choosing a search engine, or installing a chatbot app. It could eventually let an approved model handle a task within a Siri experience, subject to Apple’s privacy and system controls.

Apple has already confirmed a broader technical direction. Its iOS developer materials say the Foundation Models framework can work with cloud models, including Claude and Gemini, as well as other protocol-conforming models. That statement applies to developer tools, however, not to a consumer preference that replaces Siri.
What Apple has not announced
Apple has not published a supported list of Siri AI providers, a release date for model delegation, or an entitlement that third-party services can request. It also has not said whether a future choice would be available worldwide or require a paid AI subscription.
