Slow Horses season 6 finale is streaming, with seasons 7 and 8 confirmed

Sir Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb in Slow Horses season 6 finale

The Slow Horses season 6 finale, episode 6 “Judgment Day,” is listed for October 21, 2026 on Apple TV, according to Apple’s episode guide. Apple has already confirmed a seventh season, announced last year, and on September 15, 2026 it announced a six-episode eighth season adapted from Mick Herron’s novel “Clown Town.”

So the end of season 6 is not the end of Jackson Lamb. Here is what Apple has said about the finale, the season it closes and the two seasons still to come.

When did the Slow Horses season 6 finale come out?

Apple lists “Judgment Day” for October 21, 2026. Apple TV typically releases new episodes at 9pm ET / 6pm PT the evening before the listed date, so US viewers may have seen it the evening of October 20. Apple does not state an exact release time on its episode pages.

What Apple says about Judgment Day

Apple’s synopsis for the finale reads: “Season finale. The safe house becomes unsafe as Lamb and Taverner finally join forces.”

That is the full official description. It follows episode 5, “Sayonara,” where Apple’s synopsis says “River goes after Sid. Lamb sets his sights on Cantor. Taverner carries on with a treacherous deal.” Our Slow Horses season 6 episode 5 recap covers how that episode set things up.

Slow Horses season 6 episode guide

All six episodes are now available. Titles, dates and synopses come from Apple’s episode guide.

Apple describes season six as one that “sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.” The episode synopses moved from River bracing for his grandfather’s funeral in episode 1, to the reemergence of Frank Harkness in episode 2, to ex-Slow Horses returning to the fold as assassins closed in during episode 3.

Slow Horses season 6 cast

Apple’s press materials list Sir Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, with an ensemble that includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving. Lenny Rush joined as a new addition, and Olivia Cooke returned as Sidonie “Sid” Baker.

Season six was adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall returning to direct. Apple’s stills for the finale feature Oldman, Scott Thomas, Weaving, Lowden, Bradley and the wider Slough House team.

Slow Horses season 7 and season 8

Apple says season seven was announced last year. It has not yet given a release date for it.

Season eight came next. In its season eight announcement, Apple said the six-episode eighth season is adapted from “Clown Town,” the ninth novel in Mick Herron’s “Slough House” book series. Apple’s description: “Season eight sees Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner face off in their most explosive confrontation yet. When a botched attempt to blackmail the Park puts Taverner on the offensive, it is up to Lamb to unravel one of MI5’s darkest secrets and put an end to it once and for all.”

Season eight is adapted for television and executive produced by Ben Vanstone, with Randall set to return as director. We covered the news in our post on Apple renewing Slow Horses through season 8.

“‘Slow Horses’ continues to charm audiences all around the world and I’m delighted that Jackson Lamb and his gang of lovable misfits will be back for an eighth season,” said Jay Hunt, creative director, International, Apple TV. “Their acerbic take on the high-octane world of espionage is completely unique.”

The show’s track record

Apple says Slow Horses has won three Emmy Awards, two for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and one for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, along with five BAFTA Television Awards. All five earlier seasons hold a Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with two receiving a perfect 100% critics’ score.

The series is produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films, which is part of the Mediawan group.
