Apple’s Education Store lists iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199, exactly the consumer price, and does the same at every storage tier and on the Pro Max. The education savings that exist on Apple’s September 2026 lineup are on Mac and iPad, and the Back to School gift card that stacks on top of them expires on Thursday, September 24.
That leaves a student or a school with a simple split. The new hardware Apple launched this month is sold to education customers at the standard price, while the Macs and iPads Apple did not update carry both a discount and a gift card for another two weeks.

The Education Store charges full price for the new iPhone
Apple’s education listing for iPhone 18 Pro matches the consumer listing line for line. There is no student price, no bundled credit and no separate tier.

The Pro Max repeats the pattern at $1,299, $1,499, $1,899 and $2,499. What the Education Store does carry is the same AT&T and T-Mobile trade-in wording as the consumer store and the same three months of free services, covering Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+. The $100 increase on this generation applies to education buyers in full.
Where the education discount does apply
Mac and iPad are the products with a genuine education price. Apple does not publish a single percentage on a page we can quote, and the figures recorded for individual models run to roughly $100 to $200 off MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini and up to $100 off selected iPads. Those are values recorded for specific configurations, not a table Apple publishes.
For institutions rather than individuals, Apple does publish a formal US education institution price list as a PDF. That is the closest thing to a published education rate card, and it covers schools buying directly rather than a student at a checkout.
Back to School ends Thursday, September 24
Apple’s Back to School promotion gives an Apple Gift Card with an eligible purchase: $150 with a MacBook Pro and $100 with a MacBook Air, iPad Pro or iPad Air. It stacks on top of education pricing, it started on July 16, and it was extended from August 27 to September 24, 2026.
The exclusions are as important as the offer. iPhone, iPad mini, the entry-level iPad, Mac mini and desktop Macs are not eligible. Apple lists the markets as the US, Canada, Mexico and several Asian markets.
Apple Watch, AirPods and iPhone Duo
Apple has published no education price for Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, AirPods 5 or iPhone Duo. The documented education pricing covers Mac and iPad, and the Back to School gift card list names only MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Pro and iPad Air.
Software is the one thing every eligible device gets at the same price. iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate arrive free on Monday, September 14, with iOS 27 running on iPhone 11 and later plus iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).
Who qualifies and how Apple checks

- Faculty and staff at higher-education institutions
- Employees of K-12 institutions
- Verification through UNiDAYS for online orders, or in person at an Apple Store
What has not been confirmed
Apple has not published an education discount on iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods or iPhone Duo, has not said whether Back to School will be extended a second time, and has not published a per-device AppleCare+ price for any product it launched in September. A single published education percentage for Mac and iPad does not exist either.
The gift card offer closes on Thursday, September 24, six days after iPhone 18 Pro reaches stores on Friday, September 18. A student buying both should place the Mac or iPad order first.
