Apple’s tech specs page for the Apple Watch Ultra 4 puts hard numbers behind the September 9 announcement: a 49 mm Grade 5 titanium case at 63.0 g, a 3000-nit display, a 100 m water rating with EN13319 scuba certification to 40 m, satellite connectivity, and five separate battery ratings that run from 18 hours of outdoor workout to 84 hours in Low Power Mode. It costs from $799 and ships September 18.
The Ultra 4 keeps the shape, size and screen of the Ultra 3 but moves to the S11 chip and Apple’s new Health Sensing System. Apple’s own compare page shows the gains are almost entirely in battery and charging. For the announcement details, read our Ultra 4 launch story; this piece is the full spec sheet.
Ultra 4 case, weight and display
The case is 49 mm high, 44 mm wide and 12 mm deep, in 100 percent recycled Grade 5 titanium with Natural and Black finishes. Apple’s tech specs give the weight as 63.0 g for Natural and 63.1 g for Black. That is 1.4 g heavier than the Ultra 3 at 61.6 g and 61.8 g. Band fit is 130 to 210 mm wrists.

Apple rates the Ultra 4 at up to 50 hours of normal use, which the press release describes as more than two days, and up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode. The workout ratings are 18 hours outdoor, 25 hours in Extended Workout mode and 45 hours in the new Max Extended Workout mode, which uses one-second GPS intervals and is aimed at 100-mile races.
Charging is the other big change. Fifteen minutes on the charger gives up to 18 hours of normal use, against 12 hours on the Ultra 3, and five minutes gives up to 10 hours of sleep tracking. Reaching 80 percent still takes about 45 minutes, the same as last year and 15 minutes longer than the Series 12.
100 m water rating, dive certification and durability
The Ultra 4 carries a 100 m water resistance rating under ISO 22810:2010, which Apple says covers swimming, snorkeling, scuba and high-speed water sports. It is separately certified to EN13319 for recreational scuba to 40 m, with a depth gauge accurate to plus or minus 1 m, and rated IP6X against dust under IEC 60529.
Apple also lists MIL-STD 810H testing. The sensor list includes a third-generation electrical heart sensor, an optical heart sensor, Blood Oxygen and temperature sensors, a depth gauge, a water temperature sensor, a compass and an always-on altimeter.
Satellite, GPS and cellular
The Ultra 4 keeps satellite connectivity: Emergency SOS, Messages and Find My via satellite. The press release says two years of satellite service are included and that the two-year window applies to Ultra 3 and later. Apple’s compare page lists satellite as No on Series 12 and SE 3, so this remains the Ultra’s exclusive.
GPS is precision dual-frequency, using GPS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou; Apple calls it the most accurate on-device GPS in a sports watch. Every Ultra 4 (model A3579) is a cellular watch with 5G NR on FDD and TDD bands plus LTE. The rest of the radio stack is Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) on 2.4 and 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.3 and a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip.
The Ultra 4 runs watchOS 27 and requires an iPhone 11 or later, or an iPhone SE from the second generation onward, on iOS 27. In the box are the watch, a band and the Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable (1 m). The store lists only the $799 starting price. Pre-orders are open ahead of the September 18 release; our event recap has the rest of the day’s announcements.
