Apple released the first 26.2 developer betas earlier this week. Now the public beta for macOS Tahoe 26.2 is live, so anyone enrolled in the public program can try it. The update focuses on small but useful improvements across system apps.
You can install it from System Settings after joining the public beta program. The build follows the same feature set that showed up for developers a day earlier.
What’s new in macOS 26.2
Reminders add due-time alarms.
You can set a reminder to trigger a proper alarm when it reaches its due time. This goes beyond repeated alerts and cuts through Focus modes, so you do not miss urgent tasks.
Apple Podcasts gets AI-powered chapters and links.
The Podcasts app can auto-generate episode chapters, link to shows that hosts mention, and collect useful show links. It makes long episodes easier to navigate on the Mac.
Apple News sees quick-access design tweaks.
The News app adds quick links to popular sections. Navigation feels faster and more consistent with the broader Tahoe design.

This build targets stability and app refinements rather than big new features. That’s the first public build of macOS Tahoe 26.2. Try it on a secondary machine, then tell us what you find. Let us know in the comments.
