If you are planning to upgrade your iPhone later this year, you might want to start thinking about which finish fits your personal style. New images from supply chain sources just gave us a clear look at what to expect from the next premium Apple models. Based on recent photo leaks of camera protectors, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro will likely launch in four distinct colors.
Chinese leakers share images of new camera protection plates
A well-known Chinese leaker named Ice Universe posted an interesting picture online. The photo shows four different camera lens protection plates. These third-party accessories are clearly designed to match the specific finishes of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models.
The lens protectors in the picture show up in silver, blue, wine red, and black. A previous report from Macworld also mentioned four colors currently in development. It listed the choices as silver, light blue, dark cherry, and dark gray.
It seems the wine red and dark cherry labels point to the same deep red color option for the final product.
Apple plans to skip the classic black option again
One surprising detail from these new leaks is the complete lack of a true black model. While one of the camera covers in the leaked photo is labeled as black, industry insiders think it actually represents the dark gray finish.
Another Weibo-based leaker, who goes by the handle Instant Digital, claims that Apple will not offer a standard black option for its premium tier this year. If this turns out to be true, fans of darker phones will have to settle for the dark gray version instead. Keep in mind that all these colors are still in the testing phase.
Apple always has time to change its mind before the official September launch event, where the phone debuts alongside the regular lineup.
