If you missed out on grabbing the highly anticipated iPhone Duo last week, you might have another chance to pick one up locally. Apple just brought back its in-store pickup option for buyers across the United States and Canada. The system went live early Saturday morning after being completely disabled shortly after the initial reservations kicked off. While the option is back online, actually securing a time slot still takes a bit of patience and a lot of luck.

Check your local store inventory as stock remains very limited

The pickup system first appeared for only a few minutes when pre-orders originally went live. After that short window, the option vanished entirely. Now, buyers checking the official order page can once again look for local in-store pickup slots. You simply need to pick your preferred color and storage size, head to the checkout page, and enter your ZIP code. This will show if any nearby stores have the new iPhone ready for you to take home today.

Finding one is still pretty difficult. Many stores currently show zero available pickup slots. This makes sense given that shipping estimates for regular online orders are already stretching deep into late January. The company previously mentioned that demand for the new foldable is incredibly high, so finding extra units sitting on store shelves will be tough for a while.

The pickup tool is also active in several other countries right now, including the U.K., Australia, Japan, and China. In many locations, huge lines formed outside retail stores as walk-in customers tried to buy a device without a reservation. If your early pre-orders finally shipped this week, you managed to avoid a massive headache.

For everyone else, refreshing the local store inventory checker a few times a day might be your fastest route to getting the device before the holidays.
