Fans of classic science fiction finally have a real look at a genre-defining story. During a massive panel at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Apple revealed the very first teaser footage for its highly anticipated television adaptation of William Gibson’s 1984 novel Neuromancer. The short clip gives eager viewers an early look at a gritty, hacker-filled world of digital espionage that will officially hit screens early next year.

Callum Turner takes on the lead role of Case, a top-tier hacker pulled into a high-stakes web of crime. The series follows his mission to pull off a massive digital heist targeting a wealthy corporate family. He teams up with Molly, a deadly assassin played by Briana Middleton, as they try to uncover deep secrets.

Turner made a surprise virtual appearance during the panel to introduce the new footage to the crowd. The show has also built a large cast around the two main leads. You will see familiar faces like Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy in supporting roles.
Ten episodes will begin streaming weekly starting in late January
The sci-fi adaptation is set to run for ten episodes in its first season. You can catch the global premiere on Apple TV on Friday, January 22, 2027. The streaming platform will drop the first two episodes on launch day, followed by one new episode every week until the finale on March 19.
William Gibson’s original book is widely known as a defining piece of the cyberpunk genre, winning three major awards in science fiction. The television version is run by Graham Roland, with JD Dillard directing the first three episodes. Gibson is also on board as an executive producer to help the team bring his famous world to life.
The two-hour event marked the largest Comic-Con presence for the company to date. If the teaser footage is any indication, this adaptation has the scale needed to honor a legendary novel. Audiences just have to wait until January to see if the full series delivers on that early promise.
