John Ternus And MacBook Neo Give Apple A Huge Q3 Mac Sales Boost

MacBook Neo Supports Only One External Display, and Here’s Why

The latest financial numbers are in, and the Apple MacBook Neo is single-handedly pushing Mac sales to record levels. During its recent Apple Q3 2026 earnings call, Apple reported that Mac revenue jumped by almost 29 percent over the last quarter. This massive growth happened without the launch of any brand-new hardware during those three months. Instead, it relied entirely on the MacBook Neo reaching full availability to drive these unexpected financial gains.

John Ternus secures a huge win with early laptop availability

The project was heavily championed by John Ternus, who will soon take over from Tim Cook as the next chief executive. By keeping the spotlight on the laptop, Ternus proved he could deliver serious hardware growth before even officially stepping into his new role.

According to the recent data, computer sales hit $10.35 billion during the quarter that ended June 27. That is a huge jump from the $8.05 billion it made during the same period in 2025. It shows that prioritizing an affordable machine was a smart move for the bottom line.

However, the cost of the laptop recently went up. Apple raised prices across its entire computer lineup, adding $100 to this specific model on June 25. Because that change happened just two days before the quarter closed, the higher price tag barely impacted these record-breaking numbers.

It remains to be seen if shoppers will keep buying the laptop at its new price. But for now, Ternus enters his new role with a clear victory. He successfully recognized what buyers wanted, delivered a hit product, and gave the hardware division a much-needed revenue spike.
