iPhone Duo comes in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, and Apple’s Store page prices all four: $1,999 for 256GB, $2,199 for 512GB, $2,599 for 1TB and $3,199 for 2TB. Apple’s press release also gives the base model at $83.29 a month for 24 months.

The iPhone 18 Pro offers the same four tiers, from $1,199 to $2,399, and the Pro Max runs from $1,299 to $2,499. iPhone Duo costs $700 more than the Pro Max at every tier. So choosing a Duo storage tier comes down to two things: what will fill it, and whether the next step up is worth its price. Our iPhone 18 Pro coverage has the Pro side of the story.

What fills up storage on iPhone Duo

The Duo’s spec sheet has three things that eat storage faster than a typical iPhone. The first is the camera: both rear cameras are 48MP, and video goes up to 4K Dolby Vision at 120 fps, with Dual Capture recording the front and rear cameras at once.

The second is the display. A 7.6-inch, 3000-nit screen is the kind of thing that invites downloaded movies and shows, and Split View means two apps open at once. The third is Apple Pencil (USB-C) support on both displays, which Apple says arrives later in 2026 and will bring notes and drawings with it.

Apple has not said how much space iOS 27.1 and its Apple Intelligence models take on the Duo, or whether any feature is limited to a particular tier.

iPhone Duo storage tiers compared

TierUS priceOver previous tierOur take
256GB$1,999n/aThe entry point; fine if photos live in iCloud and video stays streamed
512GB$2,199$200Our pick for most buyers who shoot 4K video on a $2,000-plus phone

2TB$3,199$600New this year; for those who treat the phone as their only computer

In the UK the ladder is £1,999, £2,199, £2,599 and £3,199, with 0 percent APR payments over 30 months from £66.63 a month. Our iPhone Duo storage prices breakdown compares every tier against the Pro Max.

Which iPhone Duo storage should you buy?

Our analysis: 256GB is enough if you stream video, keep your photo library in iCloud, and do not plan to shoot much 4K. It is also the only tier under $2,000.

512GB is the sensible default for a phone with two 48MP cameras and 4K 120 fps video. It doubles the storage for $200, 10 percent more than the base price, and we would expect most buyers to land there. 1TB costs another $400 and 2TB another $600 on top of that, so the 2TB model is $1,200 more than the 256GB one. Those tiers make sense if you keep a full video library on the device, or if you plan to use the inner display and Apple Pencil as a working surface for large files. The 2TB tier is new to iPhone this year and, given how few people fill 1TB, is a niche option.

If you are also weighing the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the tier steps are identical: $200 to 512GB, $400 to 1TB and $600 to 2TB. A 512GB Duo at $2,199 costs $700 more than a 512GB Pro Max at $1,499. That premium buys the 7.6-inch inner display, while the Pro Max keeps the telephoto camera and Face ID that the Duo does not have.

One thing to watch: on the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple’s release lists 36 and 45 hours of video playback for the eSIM-only models, but the Duo’s 44-hour and 31-hour ratings are given without a per-tier or per-region caveat. Apple has not said whether storage affects any Duo battery or feature figure.

iPhone Duo pre-orders open on Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, ahead of availability on October 23, so there is time to decide. The pre-event iPhone Duo price rumors show what was expected before Apple priced the higher tiers. See our event recap for everything else announced.
