Why the foldable iPhone will cost so much
Apple is reportedly building the device around several expensive components and a new form factor that requires more complex manufacturing than a regular iPhone.
Expected hardware includes:
- A roughly 7.8-inch folding OLED display
- A smaller 5.3 to 5.5-inch outer display
- A20-series silicon and 12GB of RAM
- A redesigned hinge focused on reducing the visible display crease
- Two rear cameras
- Side-mounted Touch ID instead of Face ID
