Golden Axe has not been renewed for Season 2 by Paramount+ as of September 17, 2026. Hampton Squib’s place in the first season gives the series material to continue, but a story opening is not the same thing as an official order.
That is the renewal status viewers should use. Paramount+ currently lists the animated show’s 10 Season 1 episodes, while its official series page does not announce a second season. Any claim that the giant reveal guarantees more episodes would go beyond the available evidence.

There is no Season 2 order yet
Paramount+’s episode listing identifies the Season 1 finale as Episode 10, “For Yuria,” and describes it as a moment in which Gilius realizes he cannot take on Death Adder alone. The page confirms the released season, not an additional one.

Renewal language needs that distinction. A platform may evaluate viewing, completion, production plans and scheduling after a launch. None of those internal decisions is an announced Season 2 until Paramount+ says so.
Hampton was created to change the group dynamic
Official material describes Hampton as an inexperienced, underprepared adventurer whose ambitions exceed his abilities. The character, voiced by Danny Pudi, was created for the animated adaptation rather than inherited directly from the original Sega game’s playable trio.
That makes Hampton useful to future storytelling if the show returns. He can continue to test the veteran heroes’ assumptions and give the series an audience-facing outsider. It does not prove a renewal, and it does not establish what a second-season plot would be.
The giant reveal is a Season 1 question, not a green light
Whether Hampton’s reveal changes how the party sees him is a question for the episodes. The business question is separate. Fans should treat the finale’s lingering ideas as possibilities while waiting for an official Paramount+ announcement.
The adaptation has a useful advantage if it continues: it can draw on a recognizable fantasy-game world while keeping a new character at the center of the group’s comic friction. Its 10 first-season episodes establish its own version of Yuria. Those are creative assets, not evidence of a commission.
That difference protects readers from a common streaming mistake. “Could return” describes narrative potential. “Will return” requires an official order. Golden Axe is currently in the first category.
