Apple released iOS 27.2 beta 2 to registered developers on September 21, 2026. The update carries build number 24B5089g and follows the first iOS 27.2 developer beta.
Apple confirms the build and release date on its Developer Releases page. Its current iOS and iPadOS 27.2 release notes describe the wider 27.2 cycle, but Apple does not provide a separate list of changes introduced specifically in beta 2.
What Apple currently lists
The notes say Apple is expanding its alternative App Tracking Transparency prompt for users in the European Union. The prompt must appear every year in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania. We previously explained how the EU tracking prompt will work.

Apple also lists known issues involving Health personalized summaries and the Describe a Shortcut feature. Health summaries may fail to generate in Insights, while Describe a Shortcut may return an error. These items remain listed for iOS 27.2 overall, so their presence does not confirm that beta 2 caused them.
Several StoreKit Testing fixes are documented as well. They address introductory-offer eligibility after clearing transactions, storefront and locale propagation, and disabled purchase dialogs. A subscription bundle member may still incorrectly allow users to unbundle it.
Those developer-focused fixes matter mainly to people building and testing apps. For most iPhone owners, the absence of a detailed beta 2 change log means the practical differences may only become clear after broader testing.
Install beta 2 carefully
Eligible developers can check Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates on an enrolled iPhone. Because this is pre-release software, back up important data first and avoid installing it on a device you rely on every day.
