In a press release flagging the upcoming availability of new devices, Apple mentioned that over 99 percent of its retail outlets are now open. Given the fluctuations during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, this marks a rather significant moment. It comes as we mark the 20th anniversary of the company’s first shop welcoming customers.

Almost All Apple Stores Open

The Mac Observer has been regularly updating this article to help keep track of what Apple Stores are open. On March 1st, for the first time in almost a year, all U.S. Apple stores were open. Hopefully, there will be no need to report on further closures in the future. Even as things return to something approaching normal, it is worth checking what services your local retail location is offering as it does differ depending on the situation and regulations. Even in places that are technically open those are really the only limited services available, such as the ability to book Genius Bar Appointments.

In Illinois the 2 Chicago Stores, Michigan Ave & Lincoln Park are open as well and are missing from the list. All of the Illinois stores are open for pick-up and Genius Bar appointments. No walk-ins at the present time.

I suspect the source for the list of open stores is inaccurate.

Thank you! Using Apple’s official page, but as you can imagine it’s a bit of a challenge to keep up so really appreciate readers flagging things up in their local area or state!

Could you please correct the spelling of store number 25 in California? The city is Pleasanton, California, not Pleaston. Thank you.

All the stores in Illinois are open now. I am going to one of them today to have my MacBook Pro repaired.

As I expected, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware and Massachusetts are not on that list. Some parts of Pittsburgh are the “Pennsyltucky” extension of Ohio. But I am surprised by the reopening of California.
