Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 5 will officially premiere on Apple TV on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, continuing the show’s weekly rollout. The upcoming episode is titled “Riches of Embarrassment” and takes Ted’s new women’s team into an important match against Chelsea.
Apple lists Episode 5 with a 47-minute runtime. Viewers in the U.S. should also watch for an earlier Tuesday evening release, as Season 4 episodes have recently appeared at 6 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET on the night before their official Wednesday date.

Episode 5 moves the Lady Greyhounds back toward football after Episode 4 spent considerable time on team bonding and the characters’ personal lives. The official description confirms that Richmond’s women will face Chelsea, while assistant coach Alice Chilton begins feeling the pressure surrounding the team. Rebecca will also have to deal with a complicated new dynamic.
That Chelsea match should give viewers a better look at how far Ted’s new squad has progressed. Season 4 has focused heavily on building the women’s team from limited resources, while Ted, Alice and Coach Beard work on turning a collection of players into a competitive side.
Episode 4, “Greyhounds’ Day Off,” took a different route. Ted, Beard and Alice canceled practice and brought the team together for a trivia night that eventually landed them in jail. Rebecca and Keeley attended a women’s football business event, where they met influential investor Zelda Southport, while Roy continued dealing with his unresolved relationship with Keeley.
How Season 4 continues the Ted Lasso story
Season 3 ended with Ted leaving England and returning to Kansas City so he could spend more time with Henry. Season 4 picks up several years later, when Rebecca, Keeley and Higgins approach him about returning to Richmond to coach the club’s new second-division women’s team. Ted eventually accepts and heads back to London with a very different challenge ahead.
The season contains 10 episodes, with new installments scheduled every Wednesday through the finale on October 7, 2026. Episode 6 follows on September 9.
