The much-discussed Apple car could actually turn out to be an electric van. That is according to a report in German publication Manager Magazin, picked up by Reuters. Apple engineers are reportedly working on an interior for the vehicle. Apple itself refused to comment on the speculation. The revelation about a potential electric van came Thursday, a day after Apple released a White Paper for drivers testing its automated vehicles.
Manager Magazin, citing multiple unnamed sources, said that prototypes painted in black and silver had been seen. The report, which did not provide further details, said that engineers at Apple’s Cupertino, California-headquarters were now working on the interior.

Thank-you Lee…. Well here we go again – the rumor mill. At this point the Apple Car could be a Turnip or an Artichoke. They’ve obviously pivoted a few times in their efforts based on rumors, hirings, firings etc. I always said at best Apple could do a “system” an “OS” for the future car UI whether totally autonomous or semi autonomous. By 2020 “they” say SUVs will make up 50% of car sales. Chrysler makes the only American Van left on the mkt so I’m doubting Apple is doing a van UNLESS it’s totally autonomous and for metro areas – like a people mover – a Bird scooter on steroids such as litters the sidewalks all over Hollywood here – grab n go type thing. As long as Apple is late in the game I HOPE it’s autonomous or at least a SYSTEM – and this “van” as of now is only a buck for the tech. 🏂 🛴 🛵
Okay we should soon be hearing from Cudaboy about this story.
A van might be a good place to start instead of sedan.
