Rumors are starting to paint a very clear picture of what is coming next year for the twentieth anniversary of the original smartphone that changed the world. Next year, Apple will reportedly launch the highly anticipated iPhone 20, and early leaks suggest it will feature the most dramatic physical design overhaul since the launch of the tenth-anniversary model almost a decade ago. It looks like its design team is planning something huge to celebrate two decades of the flagship device.
Apple plans to wrap curved glass around the entire phone
Based on recent reports from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, the tech giant is developing a special twentieth-anniversary model to mark the original device’s debut in 2007. The upcoming design will reportedly swap out the usual flat edges for glass that curves smoothly around every corner. This change will make the display look like it spills over the sides of the new iPhone.
By removing the standard metal borders and shrinking the bezels down even further, the phone will give off a continuous, all-glass appearance. This approach takes the edge-to-edge screen idea much further than what we saw back in 2017. Back then, the company removed the physical home button to stretch the display outward, fundamentally changing how the Pro line looked and worked.

While the new anniversary model sounds incredible on paper, the final product could still change before it hits store shelves next year. Engineering a fully curved glass body is very difficult, so the final design might be scaled back if production issues pop up. Still, if the company pulls this off, it will be a massive visual upgrade that sets a new standard for mobile hardware.
