Apple removed 39,000 games from its App Store in China on Thursday, Reuters reported. It’s the most ever removed in a single day.

Games and Apps Remoed From China App Store Before Deadline

In total, 46,000 Apps were removed before a deadline for developers to get a license hit. Researchers at Qimai found that only 74 of the top 1,500 paid App Store games remain. Amongst the games taken down were Assassin’s Creed Identity and NBA 2k20. December 31 is actually an extension. Originally, developers were told that they had to obtain a government-issued license by the end of June.
