Apple Rolls Out Sleep Apnea And Hearing Test Features In India

Sleep Apnea Apple

Apple just launched two major health tools for its device users in India. Starting today, you can officially access new sleep apnea notifications on your smart watch and take a clinically validated hearing test using your premium earbuds. These handy features aim to help people spot potential medical issues early from the comfort of their home, without needing an immediate trip to the doctor.

Your watch tracks nightly breathing patterns to spot sleep apnea

Apple Watch owners can now get alerts if their watch spots signs of sleep apnea. This condition causes your breathing to start and stop while you rest, which can ruin your sleep quality and lead to other health problems. The watch uses a built-in sensor to track small wrist movements that happen when your breathing gets disrupted during the night.

If the system notices these unusual patterns happening often over a thirty-day period, it sends you an alert. You can then check your health app to view the data and share a detailed report with your doctor. This update works with the Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, and both Ultra models.

Premium earbuds now offer a quick hearing check at home

Alongside the sleep tracking, the new AirPods Pro feature lets you test your hearing in about five minutes. You just connect the AirPods to a compatible phone or tablet and run the test in a quiet room. It plays different tones to figure out what you can and cannot hear clearly.

Once you finish, the app shows a simple summary of your hearing health for each ear. It tells you if you have any hearing loss and gives practical advice on what to do next. All of this information stays private on your device, but you can easily show the results to a medical professional if you need further help.
