Apple just made its Sports app far more useful for golf fans. With the latest update, the Apple Sports app now supports both men’s and women’s golf, along with stronger coverage for soccer and tennis. You can now follow every PGA and LPGA tournament in one place with live leaderboards, hole-by-hole scores, and real-time updates that show up inside the app, widgets, and Live Activities.
The update starts with full coverage of this weekend’s PGA WM Phoenix Open and continues through every major tournament this year.

Apple confirmed the update in a press release today. The company said the free iPhone app now gives fans access to “real-time scores, stats, and more” with golf added to its growing list of supported sports. Apple also said fans can track “all official PGA Tour and LPGA Tour events, including the majors” starting this weekend.
Live golf coverage now built into Apple Sports
The new version of Apple Sports lets you follow every PGA and LPGA tournament with deep detail. You can view live leaderboards as each round unfolds. You can also open full scorecards for any golfer and see hole-by-hole results in real time. This makes it easy to track favorite players or follow the entire field without switching apps.
These updates also appear in Live Activities and widgets, so you can keep an eye on scores even when your phone stays locked. For fans who follow multiple golfers at once, this setup saves time and keeps everything in one place.
Soccer and tennis coverage also expands
Along with golf, Apple added more soccer competitions to the app. You can now follow Copa del Rey, Coppa Italia, Coupe de France, and DFB Pokal. Tennis fans also get a boost. The app now shows real-time stats during matches, which makes it easier to follow momentum and match flow.
Apple first launched the Apple Sports app in 2024. It already supports leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Premier League, NASCAR, and Formula 1. With this expected update, Apple pushes the app further into daily sports tracking for fans who want fast and simple updates on their iPhone.
