Apple Music has introduced a fresh way to enjoy your favorite songs with friends. The new Selfie Sing tool allows you to film yourself singing along to popular tracks right inside the app. It builds on the current karaoke options by turning on your front camera so you can capture the performance as the lyrics scroll by on your screen. This update brings a much more interactive visual element to your daily listening habits on your Apple device, making it very easy to share musical moments.
Tap the camera icon to film yourself singing hit tracks
To get started, you just pick a song from the specific Selfie Sing playlist. Once you tap the new camera button, the app starts recording a vertical video using the front lens of your iPhone.
The lyrics will scroll up the screen in real time to help you stay on track. You do not need perfect pitch to enjoy this feature. After you finish singing, the app gives you a few helpful audio options.

You can raise or lower the volume of your own voice to blend in better. You can also play around with four different vocal effects to change how you sound. These choices include Megaphone, Echo, Concert Hall, and Studio.
When you are happy with the result, you can save the final clip directly to your photo library. From there, it is very simple to send it to friends or post it online. Currently, the playlist features well known hits like “Wonderwall” by Oasis and “Like a Virgin” by Madonna.
The update arrives soon for devices running the beta software
Right now, you cannot use this video tool for every single track in the Apple Music catalog. The company created a dedicated playlist filled with popular anthems that people love to sing together. It is possible that more songs will get camera support later on.
You will also need the right software version to try it out today. The full video capability is currently available for people testing the iOS 27.3 beta. If you only have the previous software version, you might see the playlist but the camera button will be missing.
This upcoming software release is expected to reach everyone by December. Until then, early testers can explore the new vocal features and get a head start on their home karaoke sessions. The wider iOS 27 launch will likely expand this tool to more users very soon.
Music streaming keeps finding creative ways to keep listeners engaged beyond just playing audio. By turning a simple singalong into a visual memory you can save and share, this update makes solo listening a lot more social. It will be interesting to see if its library of supported songs grows once the software officially launches to the public.
