Apple is bundling a free streaming trial with each of its new home devices on its U.S. store. The $299 Apple TV 4K comes with 3 months of Apple TV free, while the $149 HomePod mini 2 and the $299 Apple HomeView each come with 3 months of Apple Music free, according to Apple’s buy pages.

The offers carry different rules. The Apple TV trial is open to some returning subscribers and is limited per family, and the Apple Music trial is for new subscribers only. Here is how each one works.
The offers at a glance
| Device | Price (U.S.) | Free trial | Price after trial | Who qualifies |

Apple TV 4K: three months of Apple TV
Apple’s Apple TV 4K page says “Get 3 months of Apple TV free when you buy an Apple TV 4K.” The terms say the offer is for “New and qualified returning subscribers only,” with Apple TV costing $14.99/month after the free trial.
The limits are tighter than they first look:
- Only one offer per Apple Account, and only one offer per family if you are part of a Family Sharing group, regardless of how many devices you or your family buy.
- The offer is not available if you or your family have previously accepted an Apple TV subscription three months free or one year free offer.
- Apple says the “Offer good for three months after eligible device is activated.”
- The subscription does not include third-party branded subscription services, or content available for rental or purchase in the Apple TV app.
So if anyone in your Family Sharing group took a three-month or one-year Apple TV deal with an earlier device, this one is off the table for the whole family.
Apple’s page also shows a separate “Try Apple TV free” link for new subscribers, which also renews at $14.99/month after the trial.
HomePod mini 2 and HomeView: three months of Apple Music
The HomePod mini 2 buy page reads “Get 3 months of Apple Music free with your HomePod mini 2.” The HomeView buy page has the same offer, and so does the HomePod page. The shared terms say:
- New subscribers only, and $11.99/month after the trial.
- The offer is for new Apple Music subscribers “with a new eligible device for a limited time only.”
- Offer redemption for eligible audio devices requires connecting or pairing to an Apple device running the latest iOS or iPadOS. For HomeView, that means an iPhone running the latest iOS or an iPad running the latest iPadOS.
- The “Offer good for three months after eligible device activation.”
- Only one offer per Apple Account, regardless of the number of eligible devices you purchase.
That last line matters if you are buying more than one speaker. Two HomePod mini 2 units for a stereo pair, or a HomePod mini 2 plus a HomeView, still add up to one Apple Music trial per Apple Account. And if you already pay for Apple Music, the offer does not apply.
Both plans renew automatically
Both sets of terms include the same line: “Plan automatically renews until cancelled.” If you only want the free months, set a reminder to cancel before the trial ends, or the plan rolls over to $14.99 a month for Apple TV or $11.99 a month for Apple Music.
The Apple TV and Apple Music offers cover different services, and Apple applies the one-per-account limit to each offer separately.
HomeView also includes Personal Setup
HomeView buyers get one more extra. Apple’s HomeView page says “When you buy your new Apple HomeView directly from Apple, you’ll get access to Personal Setup.” In these free online sessions, Apple says, “a Specialist can guide you through setup or focus on features that help you make the most of your HomeView,” including how to connect your home devices and add users.
Apple says you can join “whenever works for you, from wherever you are,” and that Personal Setup is available for both Apple HomeView and Apple HomeView (Wall Mounted).
What the devices cost
Apple TV 4K (4th generation) is $299 (U.S.) or $49.83 (U.S.) per month for six months, according to Apple’s Apple TV 4K announcement. HomePod mini 2 is $149 in pink, green, blue, white and midnight. HomeView is $299. Our guide to prices and release dates has the full lineup.
