Apple has published three Apple Watch prices for this launch and every one of them starts with the word from: Apple Watch SE 3 from $249, Apple Watch Series 12 from $399 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 from $799. Nothing else about what a Watch costs to own over three years is on an Apple page.
That single word is carrying a lot. Series 12 comes in aluminium, titanium and the returning ceramic, in two sizes, with or without cellular, and Apple has published no per-configuration price list on any page we could read. On our arithmetic the cheapest three-year figure we can build entirely from Apple’s own published numbers is $638.88, and it covers the watch and a coverage plan and nothing else.
| Key fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Published prices | SE 3 from $249, Series 12 from $399, Ultra 4 from $799 |
| Configuration price list | Not published by Apple |
| In the box | Watch, one band, Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable (1 m) |
| Power adapter | Not included, and not priced for this lineup |
| Band prices | Not published for the new Series 12 or Hermes bands |
| Satellite on Ultra 4 | Free for two years with Ultra 3 or later activation |
| AppleCare+ per device | Not published for Series 12 or Ultra 4 |
| Apple Upgrade lease | Series 12 42mm at $11.99 a month over 24 months, per Apple’s footnote |
What from $399 leaves open
Apple’s Series 12 store listing covers 42mm and 46mm cases, aluminium, titanium or ceramic, and GPS or GPS plus Cellular. The ceramic case measures 43mm and 47mm rather than 42 and 46, so it is not a finish swap at the same size. Apple prints one price for the whole matrix.

Retailers do list configuration prices, and those are the retailer’s prices rather than Apple’s, so we are not presenting them as Apple’s. The practical consequence for a buyer is that the only way to learn what a titanium cellular Series 12 costs is to reach the last step of Apple’s own configurator.
Three years, on our arithmetic
AppleCare One is $19.99 a month for up to three products, which is $719.64 over 36 months. If you use all three slots, the Watch’s share is $239.88 over three years. Every total below is ours, built from Apple’s published figures, and excludes tax, trade-in credit and any cellular plan.
| Route | Up front | Three-year total, our arithmetic |
|---|---|---|
| Series 12 from $399, AppleCare One share | $399 | $638.88 |
| Ultra 4 from $799, AppleCare One share | $799 | $1,038.88 |
| SE 3 from $249, AppleCare One share | $249 | $488.88 |
| Series 12 42mm on a 24-month Apple Upgrade lease | Nothing | $287.76 over 24 months, then upgrade, buy out or return |
The lease row is the one that needs reading twice. Apple Upgrade is a lease run with Klarna and AppleCare is not included in it, and Apple’s published end-of-term options are to upgrade, buy the device outright with a one-time payment, or return it. Two years of payments on a leased Series 12 comes to less than the cash price, because a lease is not ownership.
One band, one cable and no adapter
Apple’s box contents for both the Series 12 and the Ultra 4 are the watch, one band and an Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable at one metre. There is no power adapter, and Apple has not published a price for one alongside this lineup.
Bands are the open-ended part. Apple has published no prices for the new Series 12 bands or for any of the Hermes cases and bands, and band fit is governed by case size, which means the returning ceramic case at 43mm and 47mm is its own question. One band arrives in the box and the second one has no published cost.
Satellite, cellular and the costs that recur
Ultra 4 carries Emergency SOS, Messages and Find My via satellite, provided by Globalstar and its affiliates, and Apple states it is free for two years with an Ultra 3 or later activation. A watch activated on September 18 reaches the end of that window in September 2028 on our arithmetic, and Apple has published nothing about what year three costs.
Series 12 is a different case: Apple’s specs page for it lists Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, second-generation Ultra Wideband and optional 5G or LTE, and no satellite features at all. The cellular option has no published plan price either, because that belongs to the carriers, and the carriers have published almost nothing for this launch.
One dated saving does exist and it is not Apple’s. Best Buy’s listing takes up to $325 off a Series 12 pre-order with an eligible Apple Watch trade-in, and that offer expires on 9/18/2026.
What has not been confirmed
Apple has not published a per-configuration Series 12 price list, prices for the new bands or the Hermes models, an AppleCare+ price for Series 12 or Ultra 4, any repair or battery service price for either watch, a power adapter price for this lineup, or anything about satellite access after the two included years. Every three-year total here is our arithmetic on Apple’s published figures.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 reach stores on Friday, September 18, with watchOS 27 arriving free on Monday, September 14 alongside iOS 27. AppleCare One Family opens the same Monday at $49.99 a month.
