AppleCare One Family goes on sale on Monday, September 14 at $49.99 a month, covering up to six people set up through Family Sharing. That works out to $599.88 for a year and $1,799.64 over three years on our arithmetic on published figures, and the whole household shares six claims a year between them.
The claim count, not the device count, is the number that decides whether the plan fits. Apple says newly purchased devices are added automatically at no extra cost and that the price stays the same regardless of how many eligible products end up covered, so a household can keep adding hardware to a fixed monthly bill while the pool of claims stays at six.
What Apple has published, and the two figures it has not
Both AppleCare subscriptions now have a confirmed price. The per-device AppleCare+ prices do not: Apple’s support pricing pages carry rows for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 with no monthly or annual figure printed against any of them.

What the two plans cost over a year and three years
Apple quotes both plans monthly and stops there. Multiplying out is ours, and it is the only way to see what a subscription that never ends actually commits a household to.

The gap between the top row and the bottom one is $30.00 a month, or $360.00 a year on our arithmetic. Spread across six people, the Family plan works out at $8.33 each a month, and $99.98 each across a year.
Six claims, shared six ways
Apple’s published benefits are the AppleCare+ set: accidental damage from drops and spills, battery service, and priority support from Apple experts. Theft and loss protection is included for eligible iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch models.
The limit is six total claims per year across the group. Divide the annual cost by that ceiling and a household that uses every claim pays $99.98 per claim, while a household that files one pays $599.88 for it, on our arithmetic. Apple has not published what happens when a seventh claim is needed, and it has not published a per-incident service fee for either plan.
What the plan names, and what it leaves out
- Theft and loss is listed for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Apple does not name Mac or AirPods in that part of the description.
- Eligibility is limited to most devices less than four years old and in good working condition, in Apple’s own wording.
- Apple Certified Refurbished devices can be covered: Apple’s refurbished pages offer the option of adding AppleCare products.
- Apple Upgrade, the Klarna lease that replaced the iPhone Upgrade Program, does not include AppleCare. A leased iPhone Duo or iPhone 18 Pro needs its own coverage line in the budget.
What has not been confirmed
- No AppleCare+ price for any product Apple launched in September 2026, which leaves per-device coverage impossible to cost.
- No per-incident service fee, deductible or excess published for AppleCare One or AppleCare One Family.
- No published answer on what a household does after its sixth claim in a year.
- No repair price for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo, AirPods 5 or the new watches, so the cost of going uncovered cannot be compared with the cost of covering.
AppleCare One Family arrives on Monday, September 14, the same day iOS 27 ships. Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro open today, Saturday, September 12 at 5 a.m. Pacific, and the Apple Watch Series 12 reaches stores on Friday, September 18, which is where the first coverage decisions land.
