GM Adds Built-In Apple Music to New Cadillac and Chevrolet Vehicles

Apple Music arrives natively on select GM vehicles, giving you instant access to playlists, radio, and Spatial Audio without using CarPlay support.

General Motors is adding Apple Music directly to select 2025 and newer Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles. You can access your Apple Music library through the built-in infotainment system without using CarPlay. The app starts streaming as soon as you enter the car if you have an active Apple Music subscription.

The native Apple Music app includes curated playlists, live global radio, personalized recommendations, and hands-free control using a voice assistant. In supported Cadillac models, you also get Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, which improves sound depth and clarity inside the cabin.

No extra data cost with OnStar Basics

GM is bundling audio streaming with OnStar Basics for vehicles sold in the U.S. and Canada. You get eight years of connectivity at no extra cost. After that period ends, GM will charge a fee to continue using connected services.

Tim Twerdahl, GM’s vice president of global product management, said the Apple Music app takes full advantage of GM’s audio systems and software platform.
