Apple will unveil iOS 27 on June 8 during WWDC, and a new rumor suggests the update could end support for several older iPhone models that currently run iOS 26. The reported change would affect users with the iPhone 11 lineup and one older iPhone SE model, while newer devices would continue receiving the latest software features and updates.
According to a recent leak shared by Instant Digital on Weibo, iOS 27 will reportedly require an iPhone 12 or newer. If the information proves accurate, Apple will remove support for four iPhone models after years of software updates and security support.

iPhones That Might Lose iOS 27 Support
The leaked list claims these iPhone models will not receive iOS 27:
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11
- iPhone SE (2nd generation)
That means users would need at least an iPhone 12 or newer device to install iOS 27. The report also says only the iPhone SE (3rd generation) and later SE models will remain supported.
Apple Intelligence Features Will Still Be Limited
Even for supported devices, not every iOS 27 feature will work on all iPhones. Many of Apple’s upcoming AI features reportedly depend on Apple Intelligence, which currently requires the iPhone 15 Pro or later models because of hardware limitations.
So while an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 may still run iOS 27, some advanced Siri upgrades and AI tools will stay exclusive to newer hardware.
Apple will still provide iOS 26 security updates and bug fixes for unsupported devices, but major new features will stop once iOS 27 launches later this year.
