Apple has introduced the iPhone 17e, but the iPhone 17e dynamic island feature many users expected is missing from the device. While Apple upgraded storage, charging, and performance, it kept the familiar notch design instead of bringing the Dynamic Island to its most affordable iPhone 17 model. For buyers who hoped to see the same front design as the Pro models, this decision stands out immediately.
The iPhone 17e still delivers several meaningful upgrades. Apple doubled the base storage to 256GB while keeping the starting price at $599. It also added MagSafe and Qi2 support with up to 15W wireless charging, which improves charging speed and accessory compatibility compared to the previous model. However, despite these additions, Apple did not extend the Dynamic Island experience to this device.

Apple announced the device through its newsroom release.
“iPhone 17e combines powerful performance and features our users love at an exceptional value, making it a compelling option for customers looking to upgrade to the iPhone 17 family,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.
