iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are on sale for pre-order today in two sizes, four finishes and four storage tiers each, which puts 32 distinct hardware configurations on Apple’s store page before connectivity is even chosen. Every combination is available from the same 5 a.m. PT start today, Saturday September 12, with delivery to stores Friday, September 18.

None of the 32 configurations are exclusive to a finish or a storage tier. The choice that actually moves the price is storage, and separately, whether a carrier is attached at checkout.

Two sizes, and the only other dimension that changes

The 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max share the same chip, cameras, materials and finish choices. The decision between them is a display and battery decision more than a features decision: Apple rates the Pro Max for up to 30 hours of typical use against 24 hours for the smaller model, and the Max costs $100 more at every storage tier.

Four finishes, no price difference

Apple sells iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. All four finishes are priced identically at every storage tier on the US store, and Apple has not published a finish that ships later than the rest or a finish exclusive to one size.

Storage: the tier that actually changes the number

StorageiPhone 18 Pro (carrier-connected)iPhone 18 Pro Max (carrier-connected)
256GB$1,199$1,299
512GB$1,399$1,499
1TB$1,799$1,899
2TB$2,399$2,499

These are the prices Apple’s own store shows with a carrier attached at checkout, matching the “starting at” figures in Apple’s press release. Choosing “Connect on your own later” instead of a carrier adds $100 at the 256GB tier for both models, per Apple’s own disclosure about connectivity discounts. Apple has not itself printed the unlocked price at the higher three storage tiers as a separate published figure.

Storage is also the one configuration choice Apple ties to a published environmental figure. Apple’s Product Environmental Report lists the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro at 63 kg CO2e, rising to 109 kg CO2e at 2TB, a figure that appears in Apple’s own PDF rather than on the configurator itself. Finish carries no such figure; Apple has not published a separate carbon estimate per color.

The axis that is not a hardware configuration

Connectivity, financing and trade-in are checkout decisions, not stored product configurations. A buyer picks a finish, a size and a storage tier first, then separately decides whether to attach AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, whether to pay in full, use Apple Card Monthly Installments, or lease through Apple Upgrade, and whether to trade in a device against Apple’s published $175 to $885 range. None of those choices change the finish or storage a buyer receives.

What Apple has not said

Apple has not published a configuration that ships ahead of or behind another, a finish available only in certain countries, or a stock level for any of the 32 combinations. Community reports naming a specific color or storage tier as constrained are unverified and are not treated as fact here.

All 32 configurations are open for pre-order as of this morning, September 12, with delivery to stores Friday, September 18. iPhone 18 Pro Max against iPhone 18 Pro is the size decision worth making before storage, since it changes the price at every tier, and the A20 Pro chip inside either model is identical across all four finishes and every storage tier Apple sells today.
