Apple’s own installment figures put the size upgrade at $4.17 a month. The iPhone 18 Pro is quoted at $49.95 a month over 24 months and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at $54.12, and the same gap appears as C$6.25 in Canada, £3.34 in the UK and ₹2,500 in India. In six of the ten stores Apple has priced, there is no per-model monthly figure at all.

That matters this morning because the monthly line is the number most buyers will look at when pre-orders open, and it is the one Apple publishes least consistently. The cash gap is a flat $100 at every storage tier, so the monthly gap is simply that $100 divided by whatever term the local store offers.

Key facts: where Apple publishes a monthly figure for both sizes

Germany’s store points at an Openbank plan of three to 36 months, France’s shows a worked example on a €1,500 purchase rather than on either phone, and Japan’s names a Paidy plan without a figure. Australia, Singapore and the UAE show no monthly number for these models at all.

Every published figure is the price divided by the term

Multiply the US figures out and $49.95 over 24 months comes to $1,198.80 against a $1,199 price, while $54.12 comes to $1,298.88 against $1,299. The UK works the same way over 30 months, where £39.96 lands on £1,198.80 and £43.30 on £1,299.

India’s EMI figures are six-month sums, and the ₹2,500 monthly gap is the ₹15,000 price gap split six ways. Nothing in any of these numbers is a discount or a charge for the size, which is the useful thing to know before checkout. Our breakdown of the price and the monthly option covers the rest of the US arithmetic.

Only the UK and India publish a monthly figure at every tier

Storage18 Pro, UK18 Pro Max, UKDifference
256GB£39.96£43.30£3.34
512GB£46.63£49.96£3.33
1TB£59.96£63.30£3.34
2TB£79.96£83.30£3.34

India’s figures run from ₹26,316 and ₹28,817 at 256GB to ₹51,317 and ₹53,817 at 2TB, with the same ₹2,500 between the sizes at each step. The US publishes a monthly figure for the entry tier only, so a US buyer comparing 1TB models has to do the division themselves.

The lease route has no published Pro Max figure

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro page quotes an Apple Upgrade lease from $34.99 a month over 24 months, or $49.99 over 12 months, for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro. It publishes no equivalent figure for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, so the monthly cost of the size upgrade on that route is not a number anyone can quote yet.

What the extra money buys is a 6.9-inch display instead of 6.3, a 45-hour video playback rating instead of 36, and 249 g instead of 211 g. Our Pro against Pro Max comparison, the 45-hour battery explainer and the launch-day specification rundown set out what else does and does not change with size.

What has not been confirmed

  • US monthly figures for the 512GB, 1TB and 2TB tiers of either model.
  • Any Apple Upgrade lease figure for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, at any capacity.
  • Per-model monthly figures in Australia, Germany, France, Japan, Singapore and the UAE, where the plans are named but the numbers are not.
  • What a carrier will charge per month for either size. Apple’s pages carry the carrier trade-in wording, not carrier installment figures.
  • Whether AppleCare+ can be added to any of these monthly plans, since Apple has not published a per-device AppleCare+ price for either model.

Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. PT on Saturday, September 12, which is 12:00 UTC, 1:00 pm BST and 5:30 pm IST, with availability on Friday, September 18 and 20 more countries on September 25. The monthly figure in front of you at checkout should match the cash price divided by the term, and if it does not, the difference is coming from somewhere Apple has not published.
