Four separate questions about iPhone Duo keep circulating with confident, slightly wrong answers attached: how long the battery lasts, whether it charges wirelessly, whether Apple Pencil works on day one, and whether an existing case will fit. Apple’s own pages answer three of the four plainly.
Here is each one, checked against what Apple has actually published.

How long does the battery actually last
Apple does not publish one battery number for iPhone Duo, it publishes several, and the one that circulates most, 44 hours, is only part of the picture. Apple’s tech specs state up to 44 hours of video playback on the outer display, up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, and up to 24 hours of typical everyday use.

Charging is measured separately again: up to 50 percent in about 20 minutes with a 60W-capable adapter over USB-C, or up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes using a 35W adapter with MagSafe. iPhone 18 Pro Max’s own video-playback figure tops out at 45 hours, a single hour more than iPhone Duo’s outer-display number.
Apple attributes the spread of numbers to a dual-battery system, one cell on each side of the hinge, rather than a single pack. Apple also publishes separate streamed-video figures, up to 37 hours on the outer display and up to 26 hours on the inner display, which sit below the video-playback numbers because streaming draws on the modem as well as the screen.
Does iPhone Duo support MagSafe
Yes. Apple’s tech specs list MagSafe charging up to 25W and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W as well, alongside the wired option above. Apple does not say whether MagSafe accessories built for other iPhones, cases, wallets or stands, are designed to fit iPhone Duo’s own shape; it lists only its own accessories as built for the phone. In the box, Apple includes only the phone and a 1-meter USB-C cable, with no charger.
Does Apple Pencil work on day one
Not according to Apple’s own press release. Apple’s iPhone Duo tech specs page lists Apple Pencil, USB-C, support as a feature of both displays, but the press release Apple issued alongside the announcement states that Pencil support arrives later in 2026, after the October 23 launch. The two Apple pages describe the same feature on different timelines, and the later date is the one tied to Apple’s own release.
Will an existing case fit
Apple has not published case compatibility for iPhone Duo beyond its own two accessories, the $79 iPhone Duo Case, offered in sand and navy blue, and the $129 iPhone Duo Folio with a built-in kickstand, offered in taupe and navy blue. Because the phone folds and Apple lists no other case as compatible, a case made for any other iPhone is not expected to fit, though Apple’s pages do not spell that out directly.

What Apple has not said
Apple has not published the battery capacity in mAh behind any of those hours, the amount of RAM powering the phone, or a repair price specific to the folding display. It also has not set a firm date for Apple Pencil support beyond “later in 2026.”
