‘MacBook Neo’ Details Leak Ahead of Tomorrow’s Apple Event

Apple’s Low-Cost MacBook Expected to Drive 25 Percent of 2025 Mac Sales

Accidentally leaked Apple documents have revealed the “MacBook Neo” name for the company’s upcoming low-cost MacBook, and the paperwork also outlines several key features that Apple plans to include in this new model. The device is expected to target buyers who want a more affordable MacBook without losing essential connectivity and modern wireless standards.

The leaked details show that the MacBook Neo will include two USB-C ports along with a dedicated MagSafe charging port, which means you will not have to sacrifice a data port while charging the laptop. This setup follows Apple’s current design approach on recent MacBook Air models and avoids the port limitations that affected the discontinued 12-inch MacBook.

According to leaked internal documents referenced in recent reports, the MacBook Neo will ship with Wi-Fi 7 support but will not use Apple’s N1 wireless networking chip. Instead, Apple appears to rely on a MediaTek solution for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The MacBook Neo is expected to run on an A18 Pro chip, originally designed for the iPhone 16 Pro, although Apple could choose the A19 Pro depending on final hardware decisions. Reports also suggest a 12.9-inch display, but the documents do not confirm screen size.

Rumors further indicate that Apple plans to offer the MacBook Neo in bright colors such as pink, blue, and yellow, with a color matched MagSafe cable to match the chassis. Apple is set to hold a media experience at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time, where the company is widely expected to unveil the new MacBook Neo alongside other product announcements.
