MacBook Neo Sells out in April as Shoppers Rush for $599 Laptop

Macbook Neo

The brand new MacBook Neo is proving to be a massive hit for Apple. More than a month after its initial release, the incredibly affordable $599 laptop continues to sell out rapidly across the country. Demand for the machine is easily outpacing the current supply, making it feel much more like a massive phone launch than a typical computer release for the tech giant.

High laptop demand pushes online store deliveries into early May

Shoppers trying to order the new laptop directly through the official website will face a bit of a wait. Apple has completely sold through its inventory for the entire month of April.

If you place an order today for any of the four fun colors, the earliest delivery estimates show arrival dates between May 1 and May 8 across the USA. This delay applies to both the base model and the upgraded version with extra storage.

The company is ramping up production to meet this incredible interest, aiming to ship millions more units this year. However, it relies on a specific internal processor to power the computer, and a limited supply of those exact parts could create further manufacturing delays down the road.

Third-party stores hold limited stock for fast local shipping

While the official online store faces massive backlogs, you might have better luck finding the machine elsewhere. Some official physical retail locations occasionally show stock for immediate in-store pickup if you check early in the day.

Outside of the official stores, big retailers like Amazon and Walmart still have limited inventory ready to go. Shoppers can sometimes secure overnight or two-day shipping through these alternate storefronts, occasionally finding small discounts on the upgraded storage models.

Other electronic stores like Best Buy and Target show slight delays, listing delivery dates about a week out. With PC makers raising prices due to global parts shortages, it is easy to see why shoppers are eagerly rushing to grab this specific MacBook model.
